A Legend Has Passed.

A Legend Has Passed.

With heavy hearts we say goodbye to Peter Tork, the bassists in the hit rock band The Monkees. Born February 13th in 1942, Peter Halsten Thorkelson lived in Washington, D.C. Peter first joined the Monkees when he tried out for the fictional pop group that was to star on a sitcom of the same name. He starred on that program from 1966-1968 with fellow band members Davy Jones, Micky Dolenz and Mick Nesmith. In later years Tork was diagnosed with cancer, following his diagnosis he talked about his journey in a 2009 essay for the Washington Post."I don't count myself as being afraid to die, but the news hit me like a fist to the chest." Forever in our hearts, we say goodbye.
