Let the countdown till Thanksgiving begin!!!

With Thanksgiving right around the coroner, we can almost smell the pumpkin pie! But with all the planning and stress that comes along with the holidays we tend to forget about the historical part this family holiday also plays. The first Thanksgiving was hosted in the autumn of 1621, consisting of 50 pilgrims and 90 Wampanoag Indians. This feast lasted for three whole days, many historians believed that only 5 women were present during this feast due to the harsh first year in the U.S. Although we feast during this holiday the early settlers would give thanks by praying and abstaining from food, which was there plan originally for celebrating. That is until the Wampanoag Indians joined them ad turned the fast into a feast. (Lucky for us!)
